Background
When working on multiple applications and windows at the same time, users often need to be able to quickly switch between them. Once way is to use the mouse and the Windows taskbar, however this tends to not be fast, so many users use the Windows ALT+TAB function (see screenshot below). Although it got substantially improved in Windows 7, some utilities still do a much better job.
Recommendation
We used to recommend TaskSwitchXP, a great product that adds preview, clickable list and many other useful features to the default ALT+TAB function, and this tool just got replaced by its editor. They recently released VistaSwitcher, which now supports Vista and Windows 7 very well, but also supports XP well. It also seems to do a better job at choosing its default location, now can automatically check for updates, and adds nice transparency effects to the previous version, plus many more small improvements.
