Mind Mapping

Background

Mind maps are a way of organizing thoughts, ideas, decisions, etc. in a graphical manner that expresses hierarchies and grouping. It is very powerful for meeting notes typically, especially when supported by an editing software tool.

Recommendation

A few tools such as HeadCase or MindMap are interesting, but we prefer recommending the more serious FreeMind. While not fancy, nice-looking and feature-rich as other free tools, FreeMing has all the really needed features, is a lot more stable and bug-free than other tools we tried, and does include some very useful export features.
